Chinese smartphone brand Infinix is launching a new budget smartphone in the Indian market. The company has confirmed that it will launch the Infinix Smart 8 HD phone in the country on December 8 in four color options – Crystal Green, Galaxy White, Shiny Gold and Timber Black.

The successor to the Infinix Smart 7 HD, which was launched in the country in April this year, arrives with significant updates. The design of the Infinix Smart 8 HD features dual rear cameras and an LED flash arranged in a rectangular camera module at the top left corner of the rear panel.

To provide a comfortable grip, the handset has a textured back panel. The front camera is placed in the center of the screen in the hole at the top. The Infinix Smart 8 HD is also launched with a 6.6-inch HD+ Sunlight Readable display with a peak brightness of 500 nits for optimal visibility even in bright conditions.

The device also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and comes with UFS 2.2 storage and Type C charging. As for the pricing, the Infinix Smart 8 HD is expected to be priced under Rs 9,000 in India. However, this is just speculation and we advise our readers to wait for an official announcement from the brand.

In related news, according to a Counterpoint Research report, Tecno, Infinix and Apple emerged as the fastest growing brands in the quarter. Infinix and Tecno offer strong basic information and a versatile model selection.

Samsung leads the market with a 21 percent share, followed by Xiaomi (17 percent) and OPPO (15 percent). 5G smartphones took 36 percent of the total shipments in the region.

During the quarter, Apple’s deliveries increased by 19 percent from the previous year. According to the report, Apple continues to see strong demand for the iPhone 13 and 14 series, which will increase demand for the new 15 series.
